Here stands a pony forever frozen, For some great task she was chosen. Now as a glass she's always here, So nopony should ever fear!
So this was my Thankgiving break project! (my family seems to have a habit of making things on holidays, and my sister wanted to make a stained glass trilobite so I drew myself a pattern for a pony based on the stained glass ones on the show (with a few modifications to make bits easier to cut, though I left some awful pieces still XD) and then I started breaking glass. And subsequently shattered an entire sheet of light blue into bits.
Luckily stained glass is my Dad's old hobby, so after I muddled my way through a couple pieces, he started cutting things and I started grinding them to fit. The grinder is so much more predictable than breaking glass. Though if I'm going to do more of these, I need to learn to break it. Many hours and 54 pieces later the cutting was complete.
The next morning I applied foil tape to the edges of all the glass pieces, and soldered the seems. And after a few touch ups she was complete.
I think she was worth the time, and now I know what shapes not to do.
Awesome design.
